For a small kitchen like ours, the greatest joy isn't a star or a title, but a guest's smile as they leave. On Google, we've been lucky enough to receive over 470 reviews at 4.5 stars. Yet more precious than the numbers are the lines guests write — honest, plain-spoken, and sometimes enough to make us blush.

The first thing many guests mention is the Hội An “vibe” — yellow walls, lanterns, wooden tables. A pocket of the old town tucked into the city.

This really is a little corner of Hội An in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The space is decorated in the old-town style of Hội An — cosy and quite refined.

And that “addictive” chilli sauce

One thing guests bring up so often it surprises even us: the jar of Hội An chilli rim. Many say it goes with everything.

I'm obsessed with the chilli rim here. Absolutely delicious, properly Hội An. The rice is cooked in chicken broth so it's fragrant and fluffy — I mixed in the chilli and couldn't stop eating.

First, I have to praise the chilli sauce here — it's genuinely addictive, and it goes with every dish.

Mì Quảng, chicken rice — and a word from a Quảng native

With our two signature dishes, we're always most nervous welcoming guests from Quảng Nam — they're the toughest critics, and the ones we most hope to please.

I'm from Quảng, and out of countless places I've tried, this is the most authentic and best-tasting I've had. The staff and the owner are all warm and lovely.

I've eaten here many times; the Mì Quảng is different from other places. The noodles and chicken rice are delicious, the herbal drink and lemongrass-ginger soup too. The décor has real taste.

And the owner is always there

What warms us most, perhaps, is when guests mention Thiên — not as a boss, but as a friend who shows you how to enjoy a bowl of noodles the proper way.

The owner is incredibly warm, showing guests how to enjoy the food the right way. Soft music, a chill atmosphere. The food is delicious and worth every đồng.
